Charles E. Menifield, PhD

Dr. Charles Menifield is a university professor and served as the Dean of the School of Public Affairs and Administration at Rutgers University–Newark from 2017 to 2022. His research interests lie primarily in the areas of budgeting and financial management, public health and welfare, and minority politics. Dr. Menifield has published two books on minority politics and two books on public budgeting and financial management. He is a Fellow in the National Academy of Public Administration.

John V. Pavlik, PhD

Dr. John V. Pavlik is Professor of Journalism and Media Studies at the Rutgers School of Communication and Information. Dr. Pavlik has researched and written widely on the impact of new technology on journalism, media and society. He is co-developer of the Situated Documentary, a form of location-based storytelling using Augmented Reality and 360-degree video. Dr. Pavlik served as the inaugural Associate Dean for Research for Northwestern University in Qatar and was a contributor to CNN.com.

Uchenna Ekwo, PhD

A scholar-practitioner, Dr. Uchenna Ekwo is the founding President of the Center for Media & Peace Initiatives, a media and policy think tank in Special Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council. He has had an impressive career working in different media platforms – radio, television, newspaper, magazine, and online. A frequent public speaker, Dr. Ekwo has delivered research papers at international conferences across five continents, including his address to the Pan-African Parliament in South Africa on “Communication Strategies for Peace and Development in Africa.”

Jerry K. Domatob, PhD

Dr. Jerry Komia Domatob currently serves as a Professor in the Department of Mass Communication at Alcorn State University in Lorman, Mississippi. Dr. Domatob works with and oversees the staff of a vibrant southwest Mississippi radio station. He also teaches broadcast courses, especially one of special note, Electronic Media Management. Dr. Domatob started work as a broadcaster with Radio Cameroon, after his graduation from the International School of Journalism in Yaounde.

Steven Youngblood

Steven Youngblood is the founding Director of the Center for Global Peace Journalism at Park University, where he is also a communications and peace studies professor. He has taught in 27 countries, and is a two-time J. William Fulbright Scholar. The author of Peace Journalism: Principles and Practices and Professor Komagum, he edits The Peace Journalist magazine and produces the “Peace Journalism Insights” blog. Prof. Youngblood has been recognized by the U.S. State Department, Rotary International, the United Nations Association of Greater Kansas City, and the World Peace Forum/Schengen Peace Foundation, which awarded him the 2020 Luxembourg Peace Prize.

Robert Shick, PhD

Dr. Robert Shick has extensive experience in the public sector as a senior administrator in New York City government, working in the following areas: contracting-out of government services, financial and budget management, policy analysis, information technology, and intergovernmental and community relations. Dr. Shick’s research interests and publications are in the areas of privatization and the contracting-out of government services, nonprofit management, and organizational development. He is a Visiting Professor at the School of Public Affairs and Administration at Rutgers University–Newark. Dr. Shick serves on the editorial boards of the Journal for Health and Human Services Administration and the Journal of Administrative Sciences.

Danilo Yanich, PhD

Dr. Danilo Yanich is a Professor in the Biden School of Public Policy and Administration and the Director of the M.A. degree program in Urban Affairs and Public Policy. In 2003 and again in 2004, Dr. Yanich was appointed to a Presidential Fellowship, attending the Salzburg Seminars. The author of numerous articles and book chapters, his research focuses on the relationship of media, citizenship and public policy, specifically political communication, media ownership, and crime and justice. His book, entitled Buying Reality: Political Ads, News Content & Money, was published by Fordham University Press in 2019.

Edmund J. Janniger

Edmund J. Janniger has a proven track record directing complex political and policy-related matters. He is the Vice President for International Programs at the Center for Media & Peace Initiatives, shepherding international initiatives and advancing relevant strategic priorities. Mr. Janniger served in the Ministry of National Defense of Poland, first as Advisor to the Minister, and subsequently managing the Minister’s special initiatives. Mr. Janniger is the Director-General of the International Security Forum, and was elected by the full Rutgers University Senate to three terms on its Executive Committee.
